Jo and Marcel are working on an idea to make the life's of music supervisors a lot easier. A music supervisor is someone who combines music and visual media. This basically means a music supervisor is a qualified person who oversees all music related aspects of film, television, advertising, video games and other existing or emerging visual media platforms. The current way of finding music for visual media is time consuming and quite tedious. There are a lot of holes in information people in this branch have to deal with right now. Often it's unclear who owns the rights for a track. They also have to deal with many different laws depending on the countries.
Music supervisors need to find out who they have to contact and how manually. That's why they want to make an all in one platform for music supervisors. This platform goes by the name of Ringo.pro. Ringo is an online application where music supervisors can look for inspiration, listen to music, see detailed metadata about music, make and share playlists and projects. The platform also consist of the correct information about who a music supervisor has to contact.
With Marcel and Jo want to bring the "sync" industry to the 21st century. As mentioned, the process of finding and licensing music for motion pictures is now a tedious, long and confusing process. Ringo wants to make this process easier, faster and accessible to everyone with their platform. The benefits of the Ringo platform is that it is time-saving, seamless and intuitive. The tone of the company is clean, simple and refreshing. The company values freedom, creativity and independence.
Ringo has a long term goal:
A music supervisor should be able to find, license and pay for the perfect piece of music within five days. At the moment, this process can take up to two months.
This is their long-term goal. The goal isn't realistic to be done by us in five weeks. So we set our own goal:
After the five weeks we want to have build a functional prototype that Ringo can use to show their concept.
The main users of Ringo are going to be music supervisors. These music supervisors handle the creative, legal and operational processes for music licensing on behalf of an advertiser, TV show, film or other content or/and media producer. With this proof-of-concept we are primarily focussing on the music supervisors.
